At last, thanks largely or perhaps almost entirely to [[exalted:dragonbloods:Peleps Alven Linaria|Linaria]], an explanation of the empress' whereabouts have been surface. 

The theory holds that she grew tired of Kejak Chejop's controlling strings, and disappeared to build an army to re-take her own city.  This would have required her to make a deal with the Neverborn (which would be silly, right?).   Using an army of abyssal tainted dragonbloods, she sought to capture the imperial manse and turn its weapons against her foes.  Regardless of who the Sanguine Empress was before she attacked the realm, she was powerful enough to do away with the elder Sidereal.  Her likeness was sufficient to convince all who saw her that she was the actual empress, though if that were right, she should have been able to attune the imperial manse rather easily... right?

With the death of the Sanguine Empress, many believed the realm had entered a new era. The reigns of the Realm have now been picked up by the Wood-Aspect Dragon-Blood, [[exalted:dragonbloods:Tepet Ejava]], who will lead the Realm into a new and uncertain age.
