Brittney was an orphan recruited into a very questionable experiment by a group called vii when she was 10 years old. At the time, Brittney didn't know what she was getting into really, being a child and all, and the team lead, [[nwod:vampires::fi_delorme|Fi]], seemed nice enough.

As soon as she was brought in, she was put on a very strict regemin of monthly pill-popping and then the weirdness began. She noticed, over the years, that her body was not growing normally like most peoples' bodies should. Her sense of smell had sharpened though, and Fi's boss guy Robert would often come get her to help him find traces of the tainted ones. Nevermind the fact that both [[nwod:vampires::fi_delorme|Fi]] and Robert were tainted ones. 

She was not sure exactly what they did with the tainted ones when they did find them. That is, until she got a little older. Then it became plainly obvious. They were exterminated. She realized, then, that she had become a task force search dog. And that these pills, which were most likely responsible for her supernatural sniffer, were stunting her growth.

She could sense that [[nwod:vampires::fi_delorme|Fi]] was getting disgruntled with the experiment as well, but none of them knew what to do about the situation they were in. Escape meant almost certain death.

So one day, [[nwod:vampires::fi_delorme|Fi]]'s loyal retainer person, Dave, decided to take matters into his own hands, and absconded with Brittney.

Over the next few weeks she was pinged from one unknown person to another, everyone wanted to get their grubby hands on her. Apparently her powers were very much in demand. Dave perished in the ensuing fight over her, and following this, she met two tainted ones, [[nwod:vampires:Julian Astor III]] and [[nwod:vampires:Tyrell Nichols]]. The Julian guy was kinda funny, she kinda liked him. He was very weird though. Tyrell made her very nervous.

Since the time when Dave had whisked her away, she hadn't taken her pills at all, but nothing  seemed to change. Later, Brittney was kidnapped again from the hands of [[nwod:vampires:julian_astor_iii|Julian]] and [[nwod:vampires:tyrell_nichols|Tyrell]], and yet again used for killing other tainted ones by someone she didn't really know. During this, unknown to her, Fi met up with Julian and Tyrell to try and find her.

Eventually they rescued her again, and she reunited with [[nwod:vampires::fi_delorme|Fi]]. It was somewhat uncomfortable at first, but they worked things out, faked their deaths, and went into hiding. 

After all of this was over, Brittney finished high school in Alpharetta, with [[nwod:vampires::fi_delorme|Fi]] and [[nwod:vampires:julian_astor_iii|Julian]] acting as her parents. To the surprise of both herself and [[nwod:vampires::fi_delorme|Fi]], her body, over the first 4 months of her highschool career, managed to catch up to her actual age. Brittney was so happy about this! But her ability to sniff out the tainted-ones was reduced significantly. Not completely gone, but not nearly as sharp as they used to be. But this, she told to no one but [[nwod:vampires::fi_delorme|Fi]], who agreed they should both keep it a secret, even from [[nwod:vampires:julian_astor_iii|Julian]].

After graduation from high school, she attended Georgia Tech as a Biology major. She roomed with [[Maggie Coburn]] for most of her time at Georgia Tech. It seemed Maggie had strange problems of her own while they roomed together, although she would never speak of it. But as Brittney'd come to learn from her own experiences, it was best to not ask. If [[maggie_coburn|Maggie]] wanted to tell her, she would. 

Meanwhile, Brittney continued her studies as an undergrad, and intended to continue them on to get her Masters in Biomedical Engineering, just like [[nwod:vampires::fi_delorme|Fi]].
