So dinner with the Baron was awkward and uncomfortable. The whole point of meeting him was so we could hopefully learn more about who the hell he was and what we were getting into. But he wasn't very forthcoming, so basically we sat there struggling to make conversation, and ended up sitting there mostly in silence. Also, my fellow Rattatak kept getting in my face with the wine, and it was only later that I realized he was trying to start something. Which, ha! He's a frickin' porter! I was oblivious to his menacing because he was so beneath me the idea of him wanting to fight me was laughable. All in all, an unpleasant affair. The following morning, we made off for Coruscant to get this mission over with. Getting down onto Coruscant was thankfully uneventful. After settling in, we rented a speeder and headed to the area with the beacon. Savn noticed the area was being watched and disappeared for a while. Wasn't sure what he did, but eventually he came back, telling us we should get going. We determined to get to the beacon we had to pass through this one locked security door which Lyndee hacked. As we made our way towards the beacon, Savn claimed we were being followed. Of course, confronting anyone before we got to the beacon was sure to end our mission fast. So, we just continued forward stealthily, hoping we could eventually lose our tail. We eventually came upon a huge (like really huge) archeological dig with which we hoped we could disappear into and cause our supposed pursuers to lose track. We quickly knocked out some workers and took their uniforms so we could blend in better. Continuing to follow the signal, it led us to a shaft, which we descended (it went pretty deep). After making it to the bottom, we appeared at a large cavern. Anyways, the dig was focused on this large ship of a design I didn't recognize. Thankfully our mission was just to grab the beacon and not the whole ship, because not sure how we'd accomplish that. Not that getting the beacon was going to be all that easy. It was up in the antenna array of the ship, which was hundreds of meters up. We had to make use of some of the equipment around to get up there and try to get the beacon out of there. Which wasn't exactly stealthy or quiet. And the beacon was a bitch to get out, as the surface of the ship appeared to be made of a highly resistant material. Eventually, a combination of sonic drilling and my disruptor rifle got us through, and we quickly made off with the beacon. It was a little unwieldy, not really conducive to a quick and secret escape, but we managed to get out of the area with it and back out the access tunnel. We began to be chased by surveillance drones, and had to run and gun it out of there. As we made our escape, we came upon the bodies of a couple of slaughtered jedi. Apparently these were the guys Savn said were following us, and he knew them, because he was a former Jedi Padawan (we later found out)? In any case, he wanted to make off with the bodies, and Lyndee thought he was just being and macabre, and besides, we were already hauling a huge ass beacon. To appease Savn, after we finished off the drones, we anonymously radio-ed the location of the bodies to the authorities and made our way back to the ship.
