Back to square one

We left Ash to watch the prisoners. Between the large sword and the promise of invisible, vengeful pixies on over watch were to ensure that they would be kept secure. That taken care of, we pushed forward, the smell of blood lingering in our nostrils.

We came to a hall. At the far end was a large door, and it seemed from the blood trails that is where they went. We moved forward and got setup, but one of my pixie allies (remember they're invisible) warned me that something was amiss with the other doors. Listening briefly we heard… something, not really sure what. It was enough though that we pulled back to check it out a bit more.

That kicked the hornet's nest. Luckily, we were able to regroup pretty well, even though we were getting hit from both sides. In the end, we ended up triumphing, but were exhausted. We used Cade's magic rope to rest, but unfortunately our adversary took advantage of our downtime and released the hostages. The invisible pixies didn't help much.

So, we sit, rested, but otherwise back to square one save for a few dead thieves. Their leader had a little speech he gave us. I wonder, given what we've seen from the betrayal at Sokol keep, if maybe we could use this guy as an ally…
