[ Session 17 ] [ Back ] [ Session 19 ]
The south building was trapped up to its eyeballs. The rogue we'd just acquired, Caedmon, headed in first with Logru nearby to sweep for traps. The first room was empty of enemies but full of traps. We took a very particular path through the room and Caedmon was able to disable all traps in that path.
We checked out one interior room, and found it empty, with no stairs. So we headed to the door that lead to the central area between the two segments of this building. Once the door opened, we were attacked. Enemies flooded in. We fought, and more enemies flooded in. It seemed they were filtering from the other buildings. Another fireball put a stop to this.
But one dude ran to the courtyard, and we all took pot-shots at him, our best attacks, but we all missed. Until the druid stepped up, picking up the bow of one of the fallen goblins. He picked it up and picked that goblin off like it wasn't no thang.
The building was deserted once that last enemy went down. We decided to directly hit up the 3rd building. It was partially collapsed and we didn't want to give our enemies a chance to regroup. We busted in and the building and got caught up by a few traps. The enemy presence was minimal. These were dispatched without much more trouble.
With the enemies cleared, we decided to take a short breather. A rest. While the casters were focusing recharging, the melee types kept a watch. They noticed some messengers being dispatched from the fourth building into the well. Perhaps there was more to this than just these buildings. But first, we had to clean out building four.
