Biography:

Raised in a small Texas town in the middle of nowhere, Jo Beth spent her teen years under the thumb of her sexually abusive stepfather. She worked the cash register at the gas station/convenience store he managed, where the pervert would molest her in the back room whenever there were no customers, and the business rarely had customers (just enough to scrape by). He even pimped her out to some of his friends to make some extra cash. All that changed one night, when a Daeva named Lucas Hoyt strolled in. The vampire turned on the charm, and Jo was immediately smitten. Her stepfather, jealous of the looks she was giving the handsome young man, began harassing Lucas. The Daeva immediately pulled a gun and shot him before asking Jo Beth for all the money in the register. The girl complied, giving what little money there was before asking Lucas to take her with him. In response, he shoved his tongue down her throat and screwed the aroused girl right there on the counter, all while her dying stepfather watched on, slowly bleeding to death. Before they left, Jo doused her stepfather in gasoline from the pumps before setting him and the gas station ablaze. And so began their violent multi-state crime spree.

Lucas was on the run from Las Vegas and if his immortal life was forfeit, he would live his final days fast and hard. He ghouled the girl, Jo becoming his eyes and ears during the day, and at nights his companion in the bedroom. They robbed and murdered from Texas all the way to Georgia, like they were trying to make their own real life version of Natural Born Killers. Their luck finally ran out when they ran afoul of both the Invictus and the Mage Guild in Atlanta, both organizations separately sending people after them. The Mage Guild found them first, and Lucas was reduced to ash by Joey Agnozi. Jo barely managed to escape and was contemplating what she was going to do when the Archon Tyrell Nichols caught up with her.

The Mekhet captured the lovely blond alive, bonding Jo Beth to him. Ty saw her as a feisty little pistol who knew how to handle herself, and thought it would be a waste to relegate her to warming his bed (not that he didn't have “fun” with her the first few nights of her capture). So he gave her a choice, serve him as his slave, or his soldier. Jo Beth chose the latter. Surprisingly, she's been pretty loyal so far. Ty's initial treatment of her wasn't anything she hadn't long gotten used to (Jo burned her father alive for more than just the abuse). And while what she had with Lucas might be considered “love”, she was more into their life on the run, and all the excitement and danger. It seems as long as she has the adrenaline and vitae flowing through her veins, she's happy. Jo Beth is a bit of a homicidal maniac though, and she gets antsy during prolonged periods of inaction. But Paige has taken the girl under her wing, helping to curb the girls violent tendencies and poor impulse control.
