Entry 13: First Engagement

We selected the rakata ship deep in the gas giant, interfaced with it remotely, brought it to the surface, and boarded it. We got everyone and everything set up, deployed in the cargo bay. The boys were ready for action and I was ready for hacking. Robert was made to send Malevius the signal, then Savn told him to shut down and we put him back on the Tempest. And then, we waited.

A ship, Malevius, appeared a couple hours later.

He moved above the rakata ship and began attempting to extract the beacon. Once we realized that, I sent wipe codes to the beacon, making it useless to him (although he didn't know that). A few moments later, two other ships appeared. They moved to positions to try and board the ship, but not through the cargo bays. I got the weapons systems powered up and tried to fire a shot at Malevius but his ship winked out of existence. Savn and Turret jumped on the transport to head off to take care of the boarding parties. I fired of shots in all directions, not knowing where Malevius could've gone, but at least trying to force him into evasive maneuvers.

Presently I got a notification that primary power was going offline. Shiat. I close the cargo bay doors and diverted power to the shuttles so that Savn and Turret could make it to their destinations. Malevius got on the loud speaker and made an ass of himself. I sent to the boys that I was going to direct their transport to engineering instead of where the boarding parties were attached. With that, I climbed back down and into the Tempest to ensure I would continue to have life support. A few moments later, the boarding party ships attached to the sides of the cargo bay doors. The doors then opened.

I diverted power and closed one, forcing all boarding parties to use the same door. Meanwhile I had the garbage can robot move the Tempest into a better location, and then fired shots off at the ship I could see. Robots came in through the door and I blasted one of the maintenance towers over onto them. I then powered up the Tempest and zoomed out of the open cargo bay door and began a space battle with the two ships.

The boys, meanwhile seemed to be engaging Malevius. Apparently he had somehow teleported his entire ship into the engineering bay. A shoot out was occurring, and then I hurt some exclamations about something ridiculous Savn did, which shut Malevius up over the intercom. Moments later, Savn told me over the link that Malevius had jumped outside the ship again. I ran my scanners and saw him. I fired shots off and… missed. He then zoomed from the area. I finished off the crippled boarding ship then took care of the other before I redocked the rakata ship to pick up the boys.

Apparently Malevius had removed some hardware from engineering, effectively crippling the ship. We'd have to leave it here, free-floating in space unless we could somehow repair it or destroy it. Not good. But at least it's the middle of nowhere.

Meanwhile, the boys had captured some decapitated Trandoshan, and we proceeded to interrogate him about the whereabouts of the lair Malevius was scampering back to so that we could jump there quickly and finish him off. And now, to prepare for the real battle…
