Items that hold other items convert “carried encumbrance” to their “encumbrance value”. For instance, a Large lockable chest converts 5 encumbrance worth of coin-sized objects into an encumbrance value of 4 that must be carried by a wagon/cart/etc. Effectively, these container items reduce the encumbrance of bulkier loose items or weird-sized objects into whatever the container's “encumbrance value” is.
