Catherine Rourke is one of the three more secretive but powerful members of the Atlanta Mage Guild, along with her comrades Joey and Pierre. She is an intelligent, sociable, and very attractive lawyer for the company Timberline Industries. In fact, she is the only lawyer for the company and is second only to the CEO, Sebastian Krause.

It could be considered somewhat odd, if one were to take the time to inspect the details, that while so young, Cici has been a very successful laywer for a number of years now, after having spent yet another suspiciously large number of years earning her degrees from Oxford (undergrad) and Harvard (law). Indeed, she rarely loses a case, although it should be noted that most of her cases are not particularly important ones in the grand scheme of things, so that particular curiosity tends to be overlooked by the masses. In addition to working as a lawyer for Timberline, she also has a private law practice which occasionally takes on pro-bono and contingency cases when she feels the case is justified and the client particularly needy. She also works in her spare time towards promoting plans to fix Atlanta's traffic problems, which usually involves road or bridge construction of some sort, a potentially revenue-generating avenue for Timberline.

In the Mage Guild, Cici is one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, Archmage of the Space Arcanum (5). Her secondary masteries include Mind (4), and Prime (3). Occasionally she is called upon by Darius King to perform tasks on behalf of the Mage Guild, along with her comrades Joey and Pierre, especially when the task expected to be difficult and risky. She also performs services for the Guild as a Teacher of the Space Arcana to anyone who wishes to learn it. Cici, while very comfortable in any social setting, is pretty tight-lipped about her past, especially how she met Joey, Pierre and Bastian. She will usually gloss over a question aimed in that direction, shrug and say something about, “oh, in college…” or “while I was in Europe” or some other incredibly vague non-answer as a reply.

One thing that is not known at all in her public life or the Mage Guild, is that Cici has been married to Timberline CEO Sebastian Krause for years now. How long they've been married is a mystery even to those few people who do know about it. It is not known why she keeps this a secret from the public, as she and Bastian don't particularly hide the fact that they live together, only offer up a somewhat lame excuse that is vaguely believable but still very suspicious. The employees at Timberline that know the both of them enjoy gossiping about this particular rumor quite a bit.

Cici and Bastian are known to hang out with Scott Kavanaugh and Persephone Halifax fairly regularly, although the reason for which is not even known by Cici's close friend Joey.
