Advantage/Disadv
- On Adv/Dis: roll 2 d20s
- Adv: take the higher roll
- Dis: take the lower roll
- At most two dice are rolled, regardless of the number of circumstances that grant Adv or Disadv
- Circumstances that grant both Adv and Disadv, no matter how many of either, cancel out, and only 1 die is rolled
- For Mechanics that allow a rerorll, only one of the two dice is rerolled
Assist
- If multiple characters attempt a task
- The leader (one with the best modifiers/roll) rolls with advantage
- If the task requires proficiency, a character w/o the prof can't Assist
- Not all tasks benefit from Assistance (i.e., threading a needle)
Group Ability Check
- Everyone rolls the ability check
- If at least half the party succeeds, the whole party succeeds
- Otherwise, the whole party fails
Hiding/Stealth
- Dex (stealth) vs Wis (perception)
- Can't hide from creatures that can see you
- Passive Perception:
- Compare Dex (stealth) check vs 10 + Wiz modifier + other bonuses (+5 for advantage, -5 for disadvantage)
Rests
- Short Rest: 1 hr
- Roll hit die, add CON mod, regain that many health levels (you can do this [level] number of times)
- Regain hit dice rolled this way after a long rest
- Long Rest: min 5 hrs long
- Regain 1/2 [level] in spent hit dice
- Regain all lost hit points
- One long rest per day
Armor Proficiency
When you lack proficiency with a type of armor you have donned:
- You have disadvantage on any ability check, saving throw, or attack roll that involves STR or DEX
- You can't cast spells
Passive Skill
Passive: 10 + all modifiers that normally apply (ability bonus, proficiency, etc)
