Riddles and Demons
The monk had some tests for us after we recovered. He claimed to champion the light, but his methods seemed a bit suspect. I don't fault him for it, perhaps the isolation of living in a cave for 50 years has broken his mind.
My particular test required me to realize that all gods of light were effectively on the same side. He offered me the chance to change some lunar diety's trappings on an altar with those of Sylvanus. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't care so much for the altar when the majesty of the woods and plains were his, so I explained that. I was told that I was right, but not for the reason I thought.
We seemed to have passed the tests in aggregate, and were given a boon to help us. My own rejuvenated my spirits and girded me for the battle ahead.
We ended up in Ravenglass proper to seek the source of the darkness as we were informed that we would be unable to depart this realm until we vanquished the dark power. The dark power was a small child. Well, on the surface he was a small child, but in reality he was a large demon. Further, the demon was supported by four of the undead that assaulted us the night before. The undead evidently had been subverted into hating us, and drew strength from that, inflicting grievous wounds.
After a rough start, Najila dismissed one of the undead, allowing us to focus on the remained whilst dodging the demon's attacks. I managed to keep the demon busy between bouts of keeping myself alive. Finally, we were able to focus on the source of the darkness and dismiss it.
