Seridan tell us evil force that controlling this place was not same evil that attacked the village decades ago, but took advantage of situation. It do some weird planar thing, so if we no beat it, we stuck here forever.
So Seridan offered tests- sneaky guy took patience, nature guy took piety, holy guy took honor, and devil girl took sacrifice. Me just sit down and polish me sword. Sneaky guy was gone for long time, but other tests not take so long. Seridan says we fail the patience and honor tests, but we pass piety and sacrifice.
As such, Seridan says that good enough. He go to well room (me and sneaky guy couldn't go in because we no good or something) where he had ally named Thaylon watching well. They bring up bucket and fill 5 water skins with special water for each of us. Seridan also give us some magical pearls that he said if we crush and drink would give us insights. So me do that and felt surge of strength through my body. Me feel as strong as me possibly could be.
After, we left cave to confront powerful evil. We go to village ruins, and see creepy little boy who said his name is Grythyx. Holy guy went to have words, but then it turn into a big four armed demon thing. Paladin and sneaky guy go to attack him, but it grab them and fly up into air. Meanwhile, Captain of ship that crashed and his cronies show up. They seem to be powerful undead. Grythyx say from wherever he are that they have a thirst for vengeance. They supposed to want revenge on Danalon, but since he control area, he able to redirect their rage. He sent them after me, devil girl, and nature guy.
Devil girl made captain disappear and started blinking around, and we do our best to kill these “revenants”. It start to heal from my first attack, but then the others started doing fire and holy attacks on them, which seem to stop them from healing. Demon must've dropped paladin and sneaky guy at some point, but sneaky guy use his magic to break their fall.
When demon dive back down, me quaff grow potion to make me big, and then summoned sword's ability to make me strong so it couldn't grab me and pick me up. Nature dude kept trying summon moon beams to attack, but demon guy kept dispelling them. But that stop him from dispelling me giant size for while. What good for goose, good for gander though, because devil girl seemed to block some of his magics too.
Eventually we slaughter remaining dead guys, and she ground him by undoing his flying magic. Then it summon a howling maelstrom of souls to surround him, hurting us as we try to get near him. Me really mad though at his shenanigans, so me power through it and eventually me chop him down. After he die, Captain guy reappear but immediately fade into dust. He leave behind gold medallion and magic pig sticker.
As he die, he claim greater evil out there which will destroy us. The sky cleared up and the trapped souls freed. So we purge land of this evil, now back to town to claim our “generous” reward.
