Prince did not feel safe going back to his city, so we leave him in troll cave. Nature boy do magic to try and determine source that is controlling king. He not detect anything in city, so we go near where prince say his father go before he came back wrong. We find cave system and go in, where we hear other worldly voice in our minds. It try to tempt us with our deepest desires. Me wanted flaming two handed vorpal axe, but it all, it can't get us actual things, but can get us the means to get it, whatever that mean. It say it could tell us who betray us in town. It say it not anyone on council, but someone close. But how could it know? Others think it just trying to bluff us using info it gained from reading our minds.
Sneaky guy try to talk it out, but creature won't have it. Paladin's mind was set anyways. So we choose violence. It giant squid who try to frighten us, but me sink into rage and charge it. Me could feel it try to control me, but me too angry to be controlled. Eventually we kill it.
We loot the cave, and we go to town, it look like killing big monster freed king from evil influence. So they thank us and throw us party. And siren lady give pearl to paladin guy. Then we go to sea elves, who also thanks us and celebrate and say trade is back on.
So we go back to town and get reward for solving issue. Then we tell council we willing to take on secret mission.
