We decided to press on into the temple. The doors opened easily. The cavernous place seemed deserted as we walked all the way to the back. The trappings had been replaced with Bane stuff, and an ominous pall loomed over the whole place.

As we inspected the iron fist, the ambush happened. Waves and waves of orcs, half orcs, fighters and clerics poured forth.

We burned through quite a lot of resources to take down wave after wave of bads. Perhaps a hundred, and they were not easy to beat down, especially with most of the team vulnerable to the sort of damage the priests were dishing out.

As we were tiredly mopping up the last group, the final group of bad guys, including Mace, walked in to present themselves. It was going to be a long, uphill battle fighting them after we'd drained so many resources cleaning up the ambush mobs.
