I arrived in Phlan in the early morning. Before doing anything else, I wanted to visit the local temple of Tyr to offer my services and talk about what was going on in this poor city. After asking a couple of locals, they directed me to Bishop Braccio. I met with the Bishop, and he filled me in on the history of Phlan, as well as the current events. It was as I feared, the old temple had been taken over by zealots of Bane. I told him it was my personal mission to clear that temple out and restore it. He said I might be able to receive some help with that. Apparently, there has been a group of adventurers that's been taking contracts and requests in town lately, and doing a good job of it. He took me to the town council building to meet the rest of the council, and because this group would be there.
I spoke briefly with the other council members, Werner von Urslingen and Ulrich Eberhard. Both hoped I would be able to assist this group and the town, and I pleaded that I would do so to my fullest. I looks like the adventurers just returned from fulfilling a mission, and were reporting to the council. There, I met Daer'ys Keown, Najila Serenfell, Logru Bonecleaver, and Kethys. An interesting assortment of races and talents, but one I thought that I could fit in with.
It seems would work together right away, as we were tasked with bringing to justice a group that has been thought to be kidnapping local girls, or at least knowledgeable of these goings on. The council was adamant that we bring them in alive, so that they can be questioned.
We scouted the area known to harbor these people. Kethys was a druid, so was able to change his shape and investigate the building. He saw a bunch of dogs inside, that these Stomm brothers kept in order to raise alarm if anyone got too close to the building, or to let loose on the unfortunate. We developed a strange plan, by which Kethys and Daer'ys would attempt to sneak in around back, while Najila, Logru, and I would try to draw attention to the front. That didn't go quite as planned, and we just ended up breaking the front door down. Unfortunately, we were immediately set upon by the dogs, and had to defend ourselves. During that melee, we were beset upon by the Stromm group as well. Having Kethys and Daer'ys join us, we were able to defeat the criminals, although keeping Logru from killing them while he was in the throes of a rage proved to be difficult, but no life was lost.
We called for the local law, and they came to pick up the miscreants. We reported back to the council that the job was complete, but it seems our work has just started, as even more requests have populated the proclamations board. We haven't decided what we will tackle next, but it all looks worthy of our help.
