Sanria Veris is the Duchess of Vern, and supposedly a powerful manifest. Though young for a duchess (she is only 38), her copper locks have faded prematurely, leaving her completely gray. Recent reports have reported slight streaks of red returning to her hair, however.
She was raised to her position as a result of both her father and elder sister (similarly powerful manifests) having been killed in a (dragon) hunting accident. Though perhaps one of the least physically powerful Dukes, she is perhaps the smartest, with several diplomatic and battlefield victories to her credit to prove it.
Her housekeeper keeps her affairs in order.
