The Thalian fortress-city of Dimmersdel collapsed under a wave of unrest as dukal politics continued to tear the country asunder. The banner of Thalian Duke Tenris Melfir was raised above the massive ramparts and could be seen by the Alestian garrisons silhouetted against the flames. Waves of refugees fleeing the pogroms and rapine of the Duke's forces washed over the frontier, spilling into the Alestian and Shesslian heartlands.
