Gain Skill

The mentality behind this skill is that you're tapping into the “collective consciousness” with mind, thus you can pull any skill from there.

Gain Skill (Mind 2)

Gain Skill: (Mind 2) The mage temporarily gains knowledge and use of a particular skill.

  • Practice: Knowing
  • Action: Instant
  • Duration: Prolonged
  • Aspect: Covert
  • Cost: 1 Mana

The caster gains temporary dots in a particular skill, chosen when the spell is cast, one skill dot per success, up to a max of the mage's Mind Arcanum Dots. Thus, a mage with Mind 3 can gain up to three dots in a skill using this spell. All the dots must be in the same skill, and skills cannot increase above 5 dots in this manner.

  • Rote dice pool: wits + science + mind

Bestow Skill (Mind 3)

Bestow Skill: (Mind 3) The mage temporarily grants knowledge and use of a particular skill to another.

  • Practice: Weaving
  • Action: Instant
  • Duration: Prolonged
  • Aspect: Vulgar
  • Cost: 1 Mana

Works like gain skill, except the mage can cast it on others.

  • Rote dice pool: wits + persuasion + mind

Skill Mastery (Mind 4)

Skill Mastery: (Mind 4) The mage temporarily gains knowledge and use of one or more skills.

  • Practice: Patterning
  • Action: Instant
  • Duration: Prolonged
  • Aspect: Covert
  • Cost: 1 Mana

This spell works as gain skill except skills can exceed six dots, up to a max rating of the caster's gnosis, and successes from this spell can be split among multiple skills, rather than applied to only one.
