The Fake Holden Banks returned from the rafting trip refreshed. He had won Rainbow's heart. Dubois would certainly be heart-broken, but all is fair in love and war. So imagine his surprise when Rainbow confessed her indiscretion, Dubois forgave her, and the two lived happily ever after!

Actors are a spiteful, mean lot. The gossip spread like wildfire. Holden was unanimously perceived as the seductive villain in this modern day tragedy. Holden felt the full brunt of the Athens' drama scene's cold shoulder. The director axed him as Dubois's understudy under the pretense that he had missed too many rehearsals. His former friends ignored him, and he received no more callbacks until his summer graduation.

Disillusioned with acting, Holden turned to politics. Politics was inherently simple: he need only tell people what they want to hear. Convincingly. Once he hit it big, he would hire assistants to help him navigate the legalities of politics. He just had to get his foot in the door.

Holden moved to Fitzgerald GA to begin his career. Fitzgerald was a beautiful, scenic town of true Georgian charm. And by pure coincidence, Rainbow's hometown. What a small world! Holden began volunteering at the fire department until he became well-known among the locals. By 2003, he was a junior city commissioner.

Holden heard the small-town updates of Dubois and Rainbow. A marriage announcement in the newspaper! How adorable. Apparently the gnats ate them alive at the wedding. Dubois was a drama instructor at UGA? And Rainbow managed her own landscaping business? Good for them! Holden was cheered by the news of his former rival and former conquest's success. If anything, it spurred him to be even more successful himself. And when a heart attack claimed the life of Fitzgerald's mayor of 18 years, Holden could think of no better way to give back to the community than run in the emergency election.
