Biography:
Maggie geeking out at Dragon*Con Niece of Joey Agnozi, Maggie used to be an ordinary girl. Well, as ordinary as you could be being born into a family of con-artists and counterfeiters for several generations back, a mother who went legit and became CEO of a private security firm known as Extensive Security Solutions, and an uncle like Joey. Things changed her freshman year at Georgia Tech, when she stumbled upon a bunch of criminals attempting to burn down her uncle's auto shop. The stress of the situation caused a power to awaken within her, that snuffed the dangerous flames and saved her own life. After the incident, her uncle consulted with the Guild's loremaster Johnathan Kirkpatrick. Maggie was not a mage, but she was definitely different from a baseline human. She had developed pyrokinetic powers. Jonathan suggested a school in Virginia that could help her control these talents.

It was a learning experience for her, but she had only been there for a little over a month when there was an unfortunate incident with the headmaster's son. The two had gotten drunk one night and had sex, and while he thought it was consensual, she did not. Since the boy was the headmaster's son, his father covered the situation up. Maggie's mother didn't immediately believe her, and Joey was out of the country at the time, so she decided to take matters into her own hands. Breaking into one of ESS's storehouses, she stole a shotgun and went after the son, horribly wounding him and running away to New York City. Joey tracked her down, and squared things away with the headmaster, healing his son with his life magicks. But due to the incident, he pulled her out of the school.

Joey teaching Maggie how to focus her power

Although their powers worked differently, Joey was quite adept at controlling fire, so he decided to help her himself. While she had found the school useful, Maggie also felt like she had been “sent away” for something she didn't even want happening to her. So when Joey took her in, she felt like less of a freak and made better progress in controlling her abilities.

Though the two are supposedly uncle and niece, Joey is also the closest thing to a father figure she's ever had, her real father currently rotting in prison. Some do find the father-daughter vibe they give off kind of weird, given their apparent closeness in ages.
