Description:
Though the Atlanta Invictus managed to successfully defend itself from the Brotherhood of Scion's attempt to destroy it, the losses it incurred were significant. After the dust settled, Tyrell Nichols was promoted to Archon. His predecessor, Colonel Daniel Ducane, was one of the Invictus vampires who mysteriously disappeared around the same time the Brotherhood of the Scion's base of operations was burned down, never to be heard from again. Though it was never proven, it was believed the Colonel, long suspected of sympathizing with Constantin Shaw, was the one who allowed the moles responsible for the initial disappearances to infiltrate the Invictus.
While the moles were killed by Ty, Julian, and Fi soon after they kidnapped the latter, the new Archon could not be sure which of the Colonel's remaining ghouls he could trust. As such, Ty went mostly with outsiders when choosing his personal strike force for carrying out his duties. He dubbed them “The Pack”, a throwback to the name of his old Narcotics Unit back when he was human. The Pack handles tasks requiring a finer touch than the “rank and file” ghouls and humans employed by the Invictus can provide.
Of the Colonel's former ghouls, he kept and promoted Paige Larson to leader of the group. Not that he found her any more trustworthy than the rest of her fellow ghouls, mostly he thought she was kinda hot. Chen was an outsider sent by Ty's former mentor Cole when Ty contacted him about the situation he was facing in Atlanta. Rhys was the ghoul of one of the Invictus vampires killed by the moles working for the Brotherhood. Jo Beth was formerly Bonnie to a vampiric Clyde who went down in a literal blaze of glory. Bobby, the youngest of the group, and his cousin Johnny (jokingly nicknamed Abercrombie & Fitch by certain members of the covenant), are two of Ty's personal ghouls, whom the Archon took in as proteges.
