Adopted brother of a young merchant prince of Great Forks named Demian, the two men fell in love with the same girl, Corsica. Though Reese did not pursue Corsica for his brother's sake, his brother was convinced the two had a secret relationship. Long had Demian been jealous of Reese, thinking his father preferred his adoptive son over his own flesh and blood. Eventually, things came to a head, and Reese received his Exaltation during Demian's attempt on his life. In the ensuing fracas, Reese's Lightning Torment Hatchets, weapons formerly owned by one of the previous holder's of his exaltation and long lost to the passing of time, were unearthed and responded to his call. A mere mortal, Demian was no match for Reese's attack, even if the nascent Solar was only defending himself. Distraught over killing his own brother, Reese left Great Forks, hoping to make some sense of his new found status wandering the rest of the Scavenger Lands.
He eventually formed a circle with some other Solars he encountered, and serves as the group's scout and assassin. With his keen senses and stealth, he is able to penetrate enemy fortresses with impunity, discovering all they have to hide. He is also able to transform his anima to mimic that of an abyssal, in order to pass himself off as a Death Knight when needed. In this guise, he usually goes by the name “Falling of Crimson Night”. He also developed a combo he calls “Sudden Slaying Spark Shower”, an extremely quick and potent surprise attack (particularly when combined with his lightning torment hatchets and the increased strength from his obsidian skin armor) that is utterly lethal to anyone who can't muster an Exalt level defense, to assassinate enemies.
During his adventures in Rathess, he encountered an amnesiac abyssal dragon-blood warrior, Peleps Alven Linaria, quickly developing a protective streak for the young woman. Though he was quite taken with the dragon blodded girl, he pursued a relationship with her quite cautiously, given the fractured state of mind he found her in.
