After much looking around, we finally found a location for the new Independent Hyperdrive Incorporated factory. Unfortunately, it was on the list of Czerka assets on a ice-bound planet. Said asset was being monitored by a remote moon base with a skeleton crew. The first step to liberating the factory for our own benefit would be to remove it from surveillance grid. We landed the ship on the far side of the moon and attempted to sneak in as the base responded to a phony distress signal.
That worked ok, except I was spotted by a monitoring droid. While the others snuck in, I attempted to keep it occupied. Gesticulating wildly, trying to indicate I needed help, I guess I did an ok job. In the end, I managed catching up with the others in the base before too long. The equipment was pretty primitive, and though the others seemed to have activated a defense bot or something, we made pretty quick work of it. After covering our tracks a bit, we ordered a couple top of the line Czerka construction droids for our own use. Talk about effective use of resources.
Next we needed to blast our way into the factory itself. It was under a mass of ice, and Argent did a stellar job of blasting a hole in the ice to give us access. We did the grand tour, decided on some drapes, then decided to find ourselves a new chief scientist.
The first was an insufferable woman on Coruscant. We laid out our plan and she seemed disinterested. Given we share the list with the Baron, I'm sure her next invitation will be far less accommodating. Our next contact was a shifty Rodian hiding out in Hutt space. We walked into the space bar and started asking space questions. The others spooked Ulino (the Rodian), but I was able to follow him and calm him down a bit. We came to a decent business arrangement. He is going to get a cut of the profits, and we get the technology. I don't trust him any farther than I can throw him, but he seems earnest for now.
We gave him his priorities, then set off in search of another Infinite Empire cruiser for spare parts. Hmm, it would be sure handy to have a Jawa right about now.
