After 3 months of reading up on Jawas and trying to spread the rumor that the emperor was in fact Darth Revan, we picked up a job. We ended up in some backwater meeting the Zrak that was inducted into the Revanites with us. I'm kind of suspicious of this guy. Given the amount of time we stayed in their camp, we didn't see hide no hair of him until the very end. Convenient. Almost too much so. Anyway, it seems he has republican interests. There was a new hyperdrive the empire has been working on, and he had a bad case of the “if I can't have it, nobody can have it”s. Reminds me of the infinite empire…. I wonder. Money was fine, and if my dream had any merit, it seemed I'd be sticking to areas of conflict as I searched for Darth Maltrix. At this point, I'm not sure if Maltrix is real or not, but the force has a funny way of making itself manifest, so I'm going to assume this is more than a mere dream, especially given the circumstances.
We drop out of hyperspace to detect a divided planet. Each side was blockading part of the planet as the ground forces fought it out below. The others forged identities as we went through the imperial lines ostensibly looking for work as mercenaries. The ruse worked. After a good bit of background checking and the usual run-around, we got an assignment and a tracking device on our ship.
Lyndee knocked out the tracking device, and we headed towards the imperial lab. Wanting to sneak in under security and exploit weaknesses from the inside, we ambushed an imperial patrol and infiltrated an imperial outpost. After acquiring an official vehicle, we started out for the lab. We had to disable the tracking device on the speeder to avoid pursuit, which didn't seem that hard.
The current plan is to pose as a sith lord and attempt to just walk in and take the research. Given what we know of Darth Malevius and Darth Spite, I think we can at least pose as a sith lord in a manner that will survive a cursory examination. All too easy…
