• Q: How did your divine ancestry get revealed to you?

A: While visiting Tripoli in Greece, Jack went spelunking solo in a disused coal mine. He ended up falling down an open shaft and breaking his leg with no hope of rescue. It turned out that there was also something living in those tunnels, and Jack would have perished from either his injuries or the monster if Hermes had not intervened. • Q: You're rich/well-off… how did you make your money?

A: Multiple diversified trust funds keep him well in the black, but his less-reliable bursts of income are the result of occasional endorsement deals with sports-related sponsors. He owns the rights to a line of skateboard designs, has his own brand of surfing gear, and continues to receive residuals for his reality show appearances.

• Q: What is one thing your colleagues know about you?

A: Jack is astonishingly impulsive and reckless. Unless a plan is simple and immediate, he's probably going to just go jump in feet first and deal with the consequences in a maddeningly cavalier manner. Despite initial appearances (and his “surfer” speech patterns) he's not remotely stupid; he's just completely fearless, and trusts that any catastrophic failures will just end up being interesting stories to laugh about later.

• Q: What is one secret your colleagues don't know about you?

A: Despite his open-mindedness, Jack is unavoidably homophobic. Two guys together completely disgusts him. Two girls…. well, that's not too bad, as long as they're both hot. There have been inevitable jokes that his revulsion is an overcompensating defense mechanism; whatever the case, since this phobia is not “socially acceptable” he does what he can to downplay it.

• Q: Do you still keep in touch with your non-divine parent?

A: Absolutely. Siobhan Atriedes lives in Manhattan but Jack flies there for her birthday and every major holiday he can. She's a very hands-off and nag-free parent, and is always thrilled to hear about his current exploits whenever he comes to visit. She receives a generous portion of his income, but she either donates it to charities or squirrels it away in case he ends up needing it back one day.

• Q: What are your hobbies?

A: Anything and everything that can potentially trigger an endorphin “rush.” If he sees something tall, he wants to climb it. If he's on top of something tall, he wants to jump off of it. Where there's water, he's either skimming across it or diving into it. If there's a flat stretch, he wants to run/drive across it at high speed. If there's a winding stretch, he wants to run/drive it at even higher speed.
