- Appearance: Muscular, body covered in scars, Max is a force to be reckoned with, even though he isn't nearly as huge and imposing as those like Wallace Bolger. He has tattooos and brandings on much of his body (although not his face).

Initially, Marilyn was the only one who the Fey was interested in taking on their family's vacation to the USA from Spain. But “Max”, her brother, put up such a fight to defend her, that the Fey took enough of an interest in him to bring him back to Faerie as well instead of just killing him outright.
From there he was dropped straight in an arena. From the get-go a contract was made with the Fey that if he could defeat 86 warriors without he himself dying, then he and Marilyn could go free. Max was more worried about his sister than he was about himself, and his primal nature came roaring forward in his determination to save his sister and himself.
It was a long and grueling decade or so in Faerie, but he eventually accomplished this ridiculous goal set by his captors. Strangely, the Fey did in fact keep his word and release both him and his sister as soon as the last body fell, the Heavy Khanda he'd taken from a fallen Indian warrior years before slashing across the poor man's abdomen, twisting slightly as it passed through his flesh, cutting his belly wide open, spilling the man's entrails onto the ground before him.
During their years in Faerie he had never been allowed to see his sister so was not even sure she was still alive until their release. She had turned from a child of 14 into a woman; this was very surprising for him even though it did make sense. She was the same, but somehow changed; she looked almost as if an animated statue like ones you would see in those old churches built during the roman age, that littered the countryside of Europe. He, meanwhile, looked like some hulking warrior from the middle ages, almost beast-like, covered in tattoos and scars.
Upon returning to the real world, they met up with Atlanta Freehold, and both joined the Winter Court. Max, for his part, never wanted to be involved in killing anyone or anything ever again, and so avoided enticing siren song of Violet and the Summer Court. He wanted to just stay off the radar of the Fey and everyone else, and live life for himself finally.
To that end, he became gainfully employed at the AJC due in no small part to his Spanish skills. Nowadays he works on both the English language edition as well as the Spanish language sections, as an Assistant Editor.
Despite this return to normalcy, his heavy khanda still hangs on the wall of his condo as a reminder to him of what it took out of him to get to where he is now, all that he lost and all that he gained.
