More Info

Bhurak hails from a world where the Rakshans were the dominant species, building a world spanning empire. Bhurak was raised in a temple of psionic gun wielding assassin-monks, training to be one of the Khan's hands. These warriors carried out his will in the shadow, eliminating enemies of the state and rooting out dissension. As a teen, Bhurak fell through a rift during a raid on a rebel encampment, ending up in Rifts world. Now in a strange new place, Bhurak was forced to adapt, hiring himself as a soldier and assassin for hire, seeking a way to return to his universe. After a decade of fruitless searching, he became quite jaded, the years of mercenary work making violence second nature to him. For a while, the only joy he found was in the fight, taking on and defeating powerful opponents. He didn't care who he fought for, as long as it provided him with money and a challenge.

One day, he was hired to raid a small town by a local criminal warlord. It was only after the dust settled and the village lay in ruins, its inhabitants slaughtered that he realized it contained refugees from his own world. He immediately killed his fellow raiders in a rage. Having unknowingly killed his own people, missing out on a chance to rekindle relations with someone from his own world, was sobering. He never paid much mind who he was killing and why, but this moment made him realize he needed to be more discerning with his skills.

He was disgusted how he had become a common thug, and blamed the villainous criminal element for what he had done. He vowed to bring order to the badlands. Maybe if there was more order, someone could eventually figure out how to connect back to his world and he could finally return home…
