Since we were told that the king and his generals had been disappearing to the south/south east, we headed off in that direction. Kethys started noticing that something was off in the water. It had an oiliness to it that wasn't natural. Little divination and some legwork later, we found a natural crevasse that led downward. Following that, we discovered a tunnel leading to a large cavern. It then continued on, and followed the same pattern. After a while though, we entered a cavern large enough, that we couldn't see the ceiling or side walls.

We wandered in a little ways, and then all of us heard a voice in our head. It wanted us leave well enough alone, and let the two kingdoms fight it out until there's only one left. I of course would never do any such a thing, but I allowed the others to entertain it's negotiation. It offered the identity of someone in Phlan that has been informing the enemy about us.

Once the being talking to us realized that we would not go for its deal, the fight was underway! It came at us with all manner of attacks, from assaulting our minds, to creating illusions, to raining down heavy blow that could take out even the most stalwart. Yet in the end, we emerged victorious.

We took what little we could find, went out to pick up the prince, and then headed back to Ardfinham. Once there, we were taken to the king. He looked haggard, but possessed a clarity that he didn't have before. He thanked us for everything we did. We offered to mediate a meeting between him and the sea elves, which he gladly accepted. After having a feast there, we made our way to Mishral. We relayed the events to the sea elf king, and while they had been close to all out war, he was relieved it was over. We then had another feast before going to the anchored ship. Once there, we headed back to Phlan.

We reported our success to the council and collected our rewards. Most of us went ahead and purchased the items that let us move and breath underwater, as they were extremely good. After a bit of discussion, we decided to rest a while, and then take on the mysterious quest on the board. We shall see what danger and treasure await us now!
