We continued to rest in the well and discuss our next moves. We decided to leave the well for now, report to the town, and claim our bounty. While there, we restocked our supplies. We also looked at the proclamations board. We ruled out a few tasks that might require a larger group than us to accomplish. And while I was burning to clear the graveyard and the old Temple of Tyr, we needed a bit more might first.

Instead, we decided to accept the mission to reestablish trade with a group of north-men by escorting an ambassador of Phlan there. After accepting this mission from the council, we departed shortly thereafter.

The trip itself was uneventful, lasting almost a fortnight. We had to hurry the last couple of days, as a large storm was on our heels. We made it to the village as the blizzard was just starting to set in. We were greeted by the chieftain Noatun, and his son, Ian. Noatun seemed to be in great pain, and the ambassador was bringing him medicine as an offering. I wished to help, but we were told the north-men were extremely suspicious of magic, even from the gods, and looked down on it with fear and distrust, so I stayed my hand.

They held a large feast for the arrival of the ambassador. The celebration was in full swing when Noatun rose and told everyone the story of his ancestors fight with the frost giants, and how that ancestor drove off the giants after slaying their leader. However, right after finishing his tale, a ghostly apparition burst into the room. He went straight for Noatun, and slew him in one blow. We tried to stop it, but became powerless in it's presence. It was soon gone as quickly as it arrived. We spoke with Ian, who was grieving for his father. We offered our services, and decided to travel to the old home of the frost giants, to see if someone had disturbed the now icy tombs rest, or if something else has taken up residence.
