After overcoming her initial revulsion of the Anathema, the Roseblack worked with a mixed solar/sidereal circle to overcome the efforts of house Mnemon and their allies to seize the throne. Her popularity amongst the citizenry of the realm, and her defeat of Mnemon positioned her to take the throne was key in allowing her to seize the throne following conclusive proof of the Scarlet Empress's death.

In doing so, she brought an end to a devastating civil war that left much of the Blessed Isle starving. However, she is not completely free to do as she will, even as empress. The solars and their sidereal allies had the assistance of the Mask of Winters's abyssal servant, Piercing Voice of Winter. Few know of the contracts that bind the realm and the Abyssal city state, and were word to get out of their complicity, another civil war would almost certainly erupt.
