Isha grew up as a patrician of house Nellens. Her house's poor standing combined with their lack of exaltations put them in the most disadvantaged position among the houses. As such, she grew up untainted by the pervasive arrogance of the more well-positioned houses. She is able to get along with many people of many classes due to her upbringing among such a disadvantaged house. She is generally a happy, upbeat sort, who doesn't like conflict if it can be avoided but will face it head-on if it comes down to it. She hides her strength behind sincere and pleasant smiles, and only when it cannot be done any other way, will she unleash it upon others.

Isha's path in life took her to schooling at The Golden Ledger to learn about mercantile business, trade and accounting. There, she made a number of friends, with Mnemon Mixia (mee-sha) being her best friend, and still is to this day. She made a number of enemies as well, Ragara Akiva being the primary. She spent most of her time trying to avoid conflict with Akiva while completing her schooling, but had only moderate success. Her late and unexpected exaltation changed many things for her in this last few years of school, although not her fundamental path in life. Akiva backed off after her exaltation and Isha was able to finish these last years in school having fun with her friend Mixia in relative peace.

Once graduated, she continued her training to become a merchant marine with a human man named Nellens Barrat. In her time with him, she saw many far away places, and he trained her in combat and business while she maneuvered herself into a position where she would take over his mercantile business in place of his son, who had no aptitude for it. But she was still quite young yet, at 22, and Barrat still had a few more years ahead of him running his business, so Isha took the opportunity, after five years sailing with him, to return home to see to some outstanding familial duties.

Perhaps Isha's most outstanding feature is that it is undeniable that she looks almost exactly like the missing Scarlet Empress. Those patricians and exalts of the elder generations who have actually met the Scarlet Empress always do a double-take when they meet Isha for the first time. And while Isha has never met the Empress herself, all likenesses that she's seen make it clear her close resemblance. Isha imagines that only people who know her or the Empress to an intimate degree could tell them apart if they happened to be standing next to each other, the resemblance is so strong. But it seems unlikely to ever happen…

  • Ragara Akiva (male), an Earth Aspect, used to take pleasure in tormenting her endlessly at school, is now attempting to promote a marriage agreement. Akiva lives in the Imperial city working for the Immaculate Treasury.
  • Mnemon Mixia (mee-sha), an Earth Aspect, is Isha's good friend from school. Mixia lives in the Imperial city with her Earth Aspect Peleps husband Carrack and her 1 year old daughter Esperia.
