Goals

  • High Adventure: You are nearly a demi-god. The peons around you shackle you to mediocrity. Your destiny is great things. You must embrace it!
  • Fast Paced: Don't overplan things. Pick a direction and charge with gusto. If you try and things don't work out perfectly, you'll have an interesting story, if it does, well, thats great!
  • Character Driven: You are exalted above your peers. Act like it. You can theoretically accomplish anything if you try hard enough. Impose your will on the world and make it your own.
  • Action Packed: I'm aiming for one or more combats or other action scenes per session.

Driving Concepts

  • Rule of Things that Look Dangerous: If in doubt, do something. If an opponent is sufficiently dangerous to give pause, he/she/it should make it obvious by the way I describe it.
  • Rule of You Shall Know Me By My Name: Exalted names contain meaning. If a name sounds scary, it probably is. If it sounds sneaky, it probably is.
  • Rule of Expectation: If you adhere to the preceding rules, you are expected to win (assuming you meet the combat guidelines). Act like it.

Rules

  • Training times/Advancement
    • Essence is only raised via story event, and cannot be trained
    • All Skill and Attribute Training times are ignored (that is, immediate)
    • Charm Training Times for favored abilities are immediate
    • Charm Training Times for non-favored abilities are 1 day and require a teacher
    • Spells require 1 day to learn, and need a teacher/grimoire
